Anyone good with identifying instruments in songs? Please help!

Asked by atarah09 (254points) September 12th, 2011

Can someone listen to the song Fortunate by Maxwell and tell me what types of instruments are being played throughout the song? I am taking an online music course, and one of my assignments is to find a song with instruments and voices that showcase high notes. For example, the flute, violin, soprano voice. I chose Maxwell because he has a high voice, and in this song, he uses instruments that play high notes. I just don’t know what instruments they are.

I hear computerized violins and other computer generated instruments.

Do you have a link to this song?

I heard an electric piano, digital drums, synthesizer (for violins and funny bwaah bwaaah sounds) plus there is orchestra chimes that are similar to wind chimes.

As soon as there is a synthesizer – you can recreate any other instrument. Maybe the whole thing was “played” on one.
