How short was the shortest mini you ever wore, and who gave you the most approving looks, and the more dirty looks, men or women?

Asked by Hypocrisy_Central (26879points) September 15th, 2011

Fairly straight forward, how short was it, and who liked it best out of men and women, and who out of the two hated it more?

How many questions have you asked about mini skirts? A half dozen?

How do you describe the length? I think the shortest skirt I’ve ever worn in public fell between my butt and mid-thigh.
No one gave disapproving looks, though I got a lot of free drinks that night.
I have also noticed your preoccupation with mini-skirts.

The shortest one I ever wore was about two inches below my butt. I don’t think I got any disapproving looks to be honest. Oh wait, except one, from a girl. My own friend in fact. I think she did the “kiss the teeth” thing in her head too.

@FutureMemory I was going to ask one about religion, in your honor of course. ;-P

@ANef_is_Enuf Do not know where you are, but around here, the mini and the booty shorts are still out in force. Those who are wearing them, no matter how young, or how heavy don’t seem to bashful about length.

@Jellie What is the “kiss the teeth” thing?

This question has inspired me to ask a similar one.

@Hypocrisy_Central I’m sorry, I don’t understand where you’re going with that? :(

@ANef_is_Enuf Re: “I have also noticed your preoccupation with mini-skirts.” Not really preoccupied…... ;-)

@FutureMemory It’s this thing that people do when they disapprove of something. It’s almost a kissing action and the sound is similar. Instead of pouting and kissing you draw your lips towards your teeth and kiss.
It’s a bit old fashioned (I still do it for giggles). I’ll try to find a youtube video :P

Ahh, gotcha.
No, I never really see people wearing miniskirts out and about. Booty shorts, probably, but miniskirts not so much.

@Jellie Please do, thanks :)

@Hypocrisy_Central Have you ever worn a speedo? Why don’t you go ahead and take a crack at my thought provoking question :-)

The shortest skirt I’ve ever worn was about 5 inches above the top of my knee. I don’t think I got any dirty looks. And I didn’t learn until years later that one of the people in the group that was there was in any way appreciative of it.

@tedibear And I didn’t learn until years later that one of the people in the group that was there was in any way appreciative of it. Did they like or dislike, and was it male or female? If you killed it, I bet it was a female that didn’t like it.

Middle of my thighs, maybe? No dirty looks, no stares that I’m aware of. It was a pleated plaid “school girl” skirt, and I wore it with a white button up shirt and a navy blazer. To work.

Ohhh…say that again Auggie, but slower…

I tried one of the wife’s on a few years back…..it’s a hobby. Let’s just say Billy Ballbag caught a cold that day.

I wore a suede mini a few years back that I could only sit in if I was at a table that had a table cloth. Over this I wore a longer jacket but, whatever. I got a huge amount of compliments on the outfit, no dirty looks that I recall but I did go through some effort to put the whole outfit together very elegantly. The skirt just happened to be short but my shoes were out of sight, my stockings, my jacket, the blouse, the material and style of the skirt, all very conservative sleek, just the length of the skirt was edgy.

Had I worn a skirt of that length (shortness) with just a tank top and flip flops then I’m sure I would have still turned heads but not to very many compliments.

@Hypocrisy_Central – Oops! Missed that part. The appreciation was on the part of a man.

@tedibear I thought so, but didn’t want to assume….even though I did assume right <wink wink>
