Are there any mob movies made in the 40's based on the Nintendo video game, Dejavu?

Asked by AshlynM (10684points) September 15th, 2011

I figure there has to be a mob movie out there already based on this game’s plot.

This game takes place in Chicago in the early 40s. The main player is an ex boxer who currently works as a private eye. Long story short, he wakes up in the beginning of the game with no memory of his identity and is being framed for murder. He has gain enough evidence of his innocence and evidence to convict the true culprits.

Any movies with this plot?

Do you mean… that the game must be based on the plot of a film made in the 1940s? Because otherwise, your question requires time travel of some sort..

I think your wording is out of order. Nintendo did not exist in the 40’s so the game would have to be based on the movie, not the other way around.

I think she means “is there a movie with a similar plot to this game?”

erichw1504's avatar

Or she means “is there a movie set in the 40’s that is based on the video game?”

Or she means is Dejavu based off the plot of a 40’s-esque movie???

Or she means “is there a movie based on a video game that was set in Chicago made in the 40’s from Nintendo?”

Sorry if I was unclear. @erichw1504 I’d like to know if there’s a movie set in the 40s that’s based on this game’s plot?

@YARNLADY Not to nitpick, but Nintendo did in fact exist in the 1940’s, they just weren’t making video games of course.

Here’s a film from 1942 with a plot line like that, but he’s not a boxer.

@Ivan Thank you, I did not realize that.
