Do you mean… that the game must be based on the plot of a film made in the 1940s? Because otherwise, your question requires time travel of some sort..

I think your wording is out of order. Nintendo did not exist in the 40’s so the game would have to be based on the movie, not the other way around.

Or she means is Dejavu based off the plot of a 40’s-esque movie???

Or she means “is there a movie based on a video game that was set in Chicago made in the 40’s from Nintendo?”

@YARNLADY Not to nitpick, but Nintendo did in fact exist in the 1940’s, they just weren’t making video games of course.
