Are there any media players that will download video from the internet?

The only one I know is RealPlayer.

Find it on youtube and go to keepvid.com

Some tv shows I can watch for free, I’m able to download with Realplayer, and youtube videos.

No streaming.

Applian Director has a whole suite of try-before-you-buy programs that you can download to record music & video from various sites such as YouTube, Pandora, Grooveshark, etc. (Some sites have different protection schemes than others, so you have to “record” instead of “download” the media, but in the end you end up with the same file, as far as I can tell.)

I like Applian a lot and use it frequently.
