Seeing pictures on a slide show?

Approximately how many seconds does the average human feel comfortable with when viewing an image, before it is changed to a new image?

Try 10 seconds if there is no text.

4 seconds.

It really depends on the content and importance of the images. Less important images that are just there to add color or illustration should have very little time, like the four seconds mentioned above. If the image is very important or meaningful or emotional, I would have it on for longer.

Average human? No idea. About 5 seconds is right for me, if the images have some content that I’m trying to take in. If they’re very complex, I’d prefer to drive the speed myself.

Average? 4.88749 seconds. Some I’d like to see for a shorter time; some, longer. Depends on the subject, my interest in the subject, and the quality of the shot. I hate feeling like a prisoner forced to watch a long boring (to me) slide show of someone’s vacation shots.

Depends what it is for. I’m going to say minimum 5 seconds, probably longer.

I think the time could be stretched out a bit if there is a suitable musical accompaniment and/or a good narrative.
