If you were to eat 3 same things for a year, which would you choose?

Asked by tlm (475points) October 10th, 2011

So I was recently discussing food with a person, and we came to a conclusion that there are specific dishes we just love. Since that’s the same for all of us, which 3 things (not considering the need to survive whatsoever) would you eat if you were given only this three choices the entire year? I know this is a weird question, just phylosophize, come on, isn’t that fun?

You’re probably wondering what I’d choose. Well, since as stated above, we don’t count the need to survival, I think the following 3 would be my choices:
1) Olivier Salad
2) Pizza with salami, tomatoes, mushrooms and cheese
3) Shashlyk, preferably made of pork.

Porterhouse steak and french fries with iced tea to drink.

Sweet corn from western Pennsylvania.
The best, freshest, organic, free range, grass fed, blah blah, steak money can buy.
Caramel frappucinos, no whip, extra caramel.

MMM.

Dry Bombay Sapphire martinis
White chocolate lattes
Green pepper, onion, black olive and mushroom calzones.

If beverages don’t count toward our choices, i’ll add in some dim sum and Parmesan garlic fried chicken wings.

@HungryGuy Your third choice definitely sounds like one of those odd childhood comfort meals that we each have and love.

erichw1504's avatar

…and by the end of the year, I’d never eat them again.

Salsa of all types (is that cheating) with excellent chips
Champagne
Spaghetti and meatballs

If beverages are excluded from the calculation, then I’ll go with beef enchiladas smothered in chile con queso as my second option

@tom_g about as American as you can get!

tom_g's avatar

@erichw1504 – Note: I’m pretty sure I could live an entire year on pizza alone. Throw in the other two and I’m living large.

erichw1504's avatar

@tom_g don’t forget the Tums.

Assuming eating these items won’t be the death of you…

Teriyaki chicken
Buffalo wings…with all dips spicy

I thought for while about the last one…couldn’t decide between steak or prime rib.I’ll go with steak since that incorporates all types of steak for variety…unless prime rib is considered a steak as well.

Brown rice sushi & Sashimi = raw fish
Vegetables, roast chicken & Marcobiotic brown rice
Pho Ga

Do meals count?

Or just ONE thing each?

ANef_is_Enuf's avatar

Salad… I want a variety of ingredients to mix and match, including but not limited to… iceberg, leaf lettuce, romaine, spinach, baby greens, several types of nuts and seeds, broccoli, cucumbers, carrots, olives, feta, mozzerella, cauliflower…. and I’m sure I could think of several more. I’ll just take a salad bar for my first option.
Fish.
Ice cream.

@tlm Your food choices are super Russian. Are you a native, and are most of your favorite dishes Russian? Just curious :)

Hibernate's avatar

@GabrielsLamb there’s no English name for it. Since I somewhat created it. And I don’t like that Greek soup. I always have the feeling I’m eating a sirop not a soup ^^

tlm's avatar

@fizzbanger Native Russian, I am.
