Can anyone recommend a few songs that contain major scales?

Asked by atarah09 (254 points ) October 10th, 2011

I know “America the Beautiful” and “Joy to the World” have major scales, but I am looking for another song. I love all types of music, rock, rap, gospel, so anything like that would do. Thank you!

“Caro nome,” an aria from Verdi’s opera Rigoletto. A descending major scale.

Where is there a scale in “America the Beautiful”?

The Beatles’ Across the Universe has an E-Major scale at the end of the song that repeats when they chant “jai guru dave om”

I just realized the “E-Major” scale was in Fiona Apple’s version; the original Beatles’ version is in D-Major.

Garryowen The descending scale is at the start of the main theme (right after the introduction, about 4 seconds into the piece.)
