Is it healthy to take energy pills before working out?

Asked by whitetigress (3129points) October 24th, 2011

For instance, if I were to load up on B vitamins before working out, will I lose the ability to maintain my own natural high energy for work outs?

There’s nothing majorly wrong with it. I can only think of two issues:

1) Some times dumb dumbs take too much of something b/c . . . well, they’re dumb dumbs. For example, ephedra, which is pretty harmless, when taken in large doses was causing heart attacks, and now it’s banned in the US b/c dumb dumbs decided “well if one pill works, two will work better,” so stick to the appropriate dosing.

2) In most cases, once you stop taking a supplement, your performance/results will lessen.
