Is the newest Nintendo Wii console out for sale yet?

I heard they were making a handheld Wii version? Is this still going on and when is it going to be for sale in the U.S.?

It’s not exactly a handheld version, the controller will have a screen on it, bit it still requires a console to be connected with.

It’s called Wii U and is scheduled to release in late 2012. There is no set release date, it may be pushed forward or back (more likely back) depending on Nintendo. Do a search to find out more information.
