Meta Question

Why is the "Just for you" tab in the middle of the "social" and "meta" tab?

Asked by Jellie (6492points) November 15th, 2011

Okay so since “just for you” tab is a repetition of the questions on the other three tabs, shouldn’t it be after all three tabs? This has always really bothered me that it’s smack dab in the middle. Does this bother anyone else or am I being anal?

Fluther wants to make you feel that you are more important than fluther. Therefore ‘just for you’ comes before fluther… Thats what I think. They are always telling me how much they love me…

@Jellie If that annoyance makes you anal, then I’m your anal-buddy. Wait. That came out wrong.
It’s not only that “Just for you” is out of order but that it’s entirely redundant since it sits at the top of the page right next door to the “Questions for you” alert. It’s absent from the mobile site and I prefer that.

It’s because there didn’t use to be a meta section, so ‘just for you’ used to be last. The meta section was added most recently, and I’m guessing it was easier to tack the button on to the end of the code that was already there.

@Blueroses It’s not totally redundant, if you use the ‘from people you follow’ button. That narrows the ‘questions for you’ down quite a bit. :)

@Blueroses: anal buddies… don’t know why that reminded me of 2g1c

Well I learned something new today. Thanks @augustlan! I’m not really sure why I’d only want to look at questions from people I’m following though. Some of the most interesting questions come from people I don’t know very well.
