What exactly is the difference between Chicago style and Turabian style?

I’m quite confused as to the difference between the two terms.

Looking it up on the internet, it sounds like they are the same.

There are differences between the two apparantly but they are so minor that no one seems to bother actually listing them. Turabian is designed to be used for research papers and dissertations etc while Chicago is for publishing in general, so I’m guessing that differecnes come from how they recomend constructing the writing as opposed to how they format citations.
