Help on Algebra 2 Question?

Asked by kittykat219 (136points) December 4th, 2011

Hi :) I was assigned this question by my math teacher and I want to make sure I figured it out correctly.
-4X^2+8X-3=0

The final answer that I get is x= 1± 0.5 so then the two solutions are 1.5 and 0.5?

Is this right? Thanks for your help!

Yep, you got it right.

You can check the answers for yourself, a good habit to get into. Just plug in x=.5 and x=1.5 into the equation to see if you get 0.
