In Powerpoint, how do I get the sound I imported to play across the entire slide show?

Asked by pcmonkey (427points) December 12th, 2011

I have a Mac computer so my powerpoint works a little differently. I finally figured out how to go to the Clip Art online place and download some free music. I imported this one clip art audio clip I liked and I made it play automatically when the slide show starts. But when I play the slide show, it only plays for that ONE slide I put it on. How can I make it so the sound clip will play over all of the clips.

Play Automatically, On Click, or Play Across Slides?

This is an option for both video and audio. You are choosing whether you have to click on the video or audio to play it when the slide comes up, if it plays automatically when the slide comes up, or if the media is always playing in the background throughout the entire show. While this option pops up by default after you select your media source file, you can always change your mind by selecting the media in the slide and changing it in the options panel for video/audio.

Hide During Show?

This option asks if you want to see the megaphone icon for sound on the slide, or if you want to hide it. (Yes they also give you the option to hide your video during the show- but if you don’t want to see your video why did you insert it? Unless you are fond of unnecessarily increasing your file size) If you select to only play your sound when the icon is clicked you will need to “Show During Show” so that you have something to click on. The icon is moveable and scalable on your slide so that you can make it as discreet or huge as you would like.
