How bad do wrist tattoos hurt?

Two wrist tattoos here. YOU can take it.

Not bad at all. The wrists, top and bottom are pretty easy to ink except for the side of the wrist were there is not much meat. Against the bone is a little rough but that area is so small, it’s over quick.

@everephebe What tattoos do you have?

I know your tough enough to take it.

Do you have other tattoos?
I can understand an issue with needles and perhaps piercings, but although tattoos are created with a needle.. it doesn’t look or feel anything like a needle.

@ANef_is_Enuf It’ll be my first tattoo! I have tons of piercings, but I’m just nervous about it.

It doesn’t feel like a needle, in my opinion. If you can handle a piercing, and your concern is about the needle itself, this should be a piece of cake. It feels more like someone is cutting or scratching you than piercing or puncturing.

I dunno if that helps any.

It feels like someone is taking a hot flyswatter and smacking you until your skin is raw. Single needle feels like a hot razor being cut in to your skin. You probably will not be getting single needle work done on your wrists.

Or that.

Yeah, it hurts, but not so bad you can’t stand it. It mostly stings, not like needles. You’ll be fine.

I have to admit that the phrase “hot razor” came to mind before @judochop said it. It’s pretty accurate.

I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ll be able to deal. I can’t wait now!

Not bad at all – if you’re worried about pain, the “worst” I’ve felt is when the needle hits the bone so maybe try to avoid that. Tattoos are less painful and WAY more enjoyable than piercings. What are you getting?

@SamIAm It’ll be a strand of DNA that says “distinctly beautiful” under it.

I got one on the top of my foot and it was OK. Felt like a cat scratching me. IMHO a bikini wax hurts more, but the tatoo “pain” lasts longer because it takes longer – obviously.

I got my first tattoo yesterday, on my wrist, and it didn’t hurt at all! It was awesome! Thanks guys!
