I would contact the IBEW in LA. They can help you with finding someone. (626) 243–9700

A note. My brother in law is a member of the IBEW.

It is important that you bring in somebody who is familiar with electricity to begin with. Then, I would rather find one in the yellow pages. The businesses that pay high dollars for advertisements got to be competitive in their prices and follow through on their promises. Another good source for electricians would be to contact The New Business Engineering Unit of the Department of Water and Power. I used to work in this unit and these guys deal with a lot of electricians. They will have a pretty good idea which electrician knows his field pretty good.

Ask to speak with an Engineering Designer and say you have some questions to ask about electrical service. Give the secretary your address and she will connect you with the appropriate representative.

IMO word of mouth referrals have seemed to be the method of choice, however, may I also suggest checking out Angie’s List; for a small fee, you get access to a list of workers in various trades, along with a ratings system.

If you know a realtor, they probably have someone they like & trust.
