Crazy Stupid Love - should I watch it?

Asked by prioritymail (1630points) December 14th, 2011

I’m looking for a movie to rent/watch on Amazon instant video. Was CSL worth seeing? Any other modern funny/romcom type movies or movies about life that are not depressing you would suggest instead? Liked the travel footage of Eat Pray Love and the action of Bounty Hunter, The Bucket List, Somethings Gotta Give…Or what was a great movie you’ve seen recently? Thanks!

I typically am not a movie watcher, but one that will really make you laugh is FOLKS with Tom Sellick.

I enjoyed “Crazy Stupid Love” much more than I expected to.

I haven’t seen Crazy Stupid Love. Did you see Midnight in Paris by Woody Allen? If you like Keaton this is a good movie where she plays the Mom. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0490084/

@john65pennington I’ll check that out….thanks!

@janbb Hmm that makes me want to watch it more :)

@Earthgirl Yes Because I Said So was such a cute movie! Midnight in Paris is intriguing. I like Woody Allen’s stuff usually.

So many choices! I’m also looking at “One Week”...Thanks!

“Love and Other Drugs” with Jake Gyllenhall and Anne Hathaway is good.
“Limitless” ( Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro ) is not a romcom but intriguing and quite entertaining in its own way.

Thanks @mazingerz88 ! I can’t wait to watch all of these :) I decided to watch Monte Carlo right now. It didn’t look that great, but it was actually pretty cute. I love seeing footage of other countries.

@prioritymail I wonder if you won’t mind watching movies that are a little older like “French Kiss” with Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline and “One Fine Day” with Michelle Pfeiffer and George Clooney. They’re both pretty good rom-coms. : )

I LOVE French Kiss! Saw One Fine Day, too, but liked FK better :) Such a classic to me.

I’m with @janbb , there are a couple of surprises in Crazy, Stupid Love, and on the whole I found it quite enjoyable, even though I didn’t want to see it, I went as a favor to someone else.

I love IQ with Meg Ryan and Tim Robbins. One of my favorite romantic comedies!

@Earthgirl Yes indeed. And they even squeezed in no less than Albert Einstein in there! : )

mazinger88 Yes!!! I really love that movie. I don’t think many people have seen it though. Meg Ryan was so cute in it. Tim Robbins was great too.

Reporting back that I watched both Crazy Stupid Love and Midnight in Paris and really enjoyed them both. I also watched Scoop which I really liked, too. I can’t remember the ending now to MIP….. I will try to find IQ :) Thanks for the great advice all!
