What does every male need?

Asked by pallen123 (1519points) December 20th, 2011

I want to make some item by hand, out of wood or leather or stone or metal—something every man needs and something they’ll want to buy or someone will want to gift to them. What should I make?

Racking my brain on this one. Most men need a jackknife, duct tape and a walking stick.

@RealEyesRealizeRealLies You want one made out of those materials?
I want to party with you. :)

Every man needs a hobby… You simply buy them wood, stone or metal and instruction into carving…but you could make a real cool wooden finger ring with as many of the items you mentioned.

Gloves. A backscratcher.

Soft leather might work @Adirondackwannabe. Couldn’t be any worse than those plastic ones.

A clothes brush/hair brush/shoe cleaning brush.

I always carry a pocket watch, so a watch fob and or a money clip are always welcome

With wood, stone and metal….Hmmmm It would be cool if every man had a mace ball.

A razor
A box for his razor
A belt

@Nullo a razor would be wasted on me. I have a $200 Dovo straight razor that I have used 3 times in the last 10 years. Santa has to have his beard you know.

For his birthday, my son got a leather mug treated to be waterproof.

A custom beer stein I think would be something I would really like. This strays into ceramics, but making a wax model and making the mold and all the intricate stuff that would go into making one would be a neat project!
