Well, first of all, I will argue with anyone who supports the idea that string theory is actually real. Secondly, the question you are asking is very simple. It has to do with travelling faster than light. Under any current speculations, we have no knowledge currently to successfuly accomplish this. Perhaps one day…. but not as we know it now. Generation ships are still our best bet.

There was a time when people disputed that the Earth was not flat or that Earth was not the center of everything. They will find proof eventually.
I read Dr. Kaku’s book.

Probably not for lots of reasons involving squeezing through wormholes at infinite Gs, or traveling at infinite velocities, etc.

OTOH, we have better figure it out within the next 60 billion years before all the entropy in this universe is used up (entropy is the ultimate non-renewable resource)...

Researchers are trying all over the world. CERN is working on it and I have been reading about it.
The Multiverse does make sense. I read and watch Science Channel.

probably not. It is more likely that the hu-mon race will go extinct way before they become even close to the required level of knowledge and technology.

@ragingloli Debatable especially since technology improves at a exponential rate (Hell, technically we’re about to open the door to biological immortality).

@King_Pariah
This is true as Technology increases so will our life expectancies.
Computers are getting better and eventually we will have Quantum Computers, This will increase the speed of research.
Dr. Kaku explains this very well.
People have to read about this to be aware. Science Fiction is becoming reality.

I have read alot about this M-Theory along with String Theory and I don’t buy either one. I do believe in the existence of multiple ‘spiritual’ (ethereal) realms. Quantum mechanics does not prove in itself that there are ethereal realms around us that we can’t detect, but it is compatible with this possibility thanks to wave/particle duality. Pearson and others explain this very well.

The more I read and watch shows on the subject the more it makes sense.
I would rather watch shows about Science than watch the beautiful people pretend to be hero’s or; listen to endless debates based on rhetoric nonsense.
I enjoy hearing from people like you that also reading about Science.

I was really excited when I first saw a program on string theory, but the math it so crazy and they don’t take into account the attrition. There is heaps of work yet to be done before I get excited.

I’m with Roger Penrose on this one.

@cazzie
The Math is being done by computers. Even the Physicist have difficulty with these calculations. Eventually the Physicist and the computers will figure it out.
