Have you ever made a wish that came true?

Asked by john65pennington (29258points) December 28th, 2011

I know a lot of people do not believe in the spirit up above, but, there are a lot of people that do. This question is addressed to those that do believe.

A police officer’s son, age 18, was involved in a horrifying motorcycle accident. Doctors gave their son a 10% chance for recovery. Everyone in my police department sent a wish and a prayer for the officer’s son. All was looking pretty grim, until one morning he opened his eyes and a tear rolled down his cheek. He was out of his coma and the rest is history. Today, he is back to 98% normal and again riding his motorcycle.

Question: have you ever had a wish/prayer that really came true? If so, please share it with your friends on Fluther.

Mine’s a work in progress. My nephew, 1 pound 15 ounces at delivery is up to 4 pounds. He still needs an assist from a respirator at times, but he’s gaining. I was scared his parents, expecting twins, we’re going to leave the hospital empty handed.

Yes. I was watching Barcelona play against Chelsea. I’m a hardcore football geek (soccer) and Barca was losing. I just kept wishing and praying until the last minute. Nearly lost hope until Iniesta scored in the last minute! I had tears in my eyes and it was the best feeling ever. Iniesta If you want to see that magic moment.

I have asked for help in my prayers many times and I believe that, so far, I have received the help that I needed at that time. Some times I have had to wait for the guidance that I needed but it has always come in some way. I know many people think that it is sheer coincidence and that is fine, maybe they’re right, but I always find a sense of peace when I prayer and ask for help to get through something difficult.
