Please tell me your thoughts about this crazy driver? [Details inside]?

Asked by Tbag (3549points) January 6th, 2012

I was watching this video at a rate of ‘What the fuck’ per second. This is insane and stupid. I’ve never seen anything like this! I’m wonder struck. The driver must be out of his mind doing this in public and not on the track.

You kidding? That is how I drive to work every day!

No, really…..amazing!

Do that on an obstacle course and you’re an amazing driver. Do that in traffic and you’re a selfish idiot.

Now I know why they wont allow women drive in Saudi Arabia. Lol!

Haha..hey, asian cab drivers are quite the wild ride too let me assure you. lol

Looks like a stunt to me, maybe even staged like a car chase in a movie.

why was an idiot hangin out the window, trying to get out???

It’s a wonder he didn’t crash at the first minute.
Exhilerating I’m sure, but naive.

mazingerz88's avatar

@jazmina88 Uhmm…because he’s an idiot?

Tbag's avatar

@mazingerz88 Hahah! It is said in order to have a license in Saudia Arabia you have to learn this first or you do not pass the driving test.

Excuse me, I need to go practice that.

It reminds me of a van driver of a group I was with in Vienna, we were being taken to our hotel from the airport. When we got to the hotel, I got out and had a panic attack. I have been involved in 11 car wrecks so it was quite traumatic for me to be in the van with the idiot driver.

Maybe this guy had some serious explosive diarrhea coming on and he just wanted to get to HIS bathroom. hehe

This is a ’‘motorsport’’ called drifting, which is extremely popular in Saudi Arabia. What you see there is what’s really happening, and while some of it looks slick, it causes a lot of accidents, obviously. But people there are used to this ’‘sport’’; notice how the traffic doesn’t really seem to give a fuck most of the time.
Here’s some Wiki generated info on the subject. I know this dude online who lives down there, and he keeps bitching how he’s sick and tired of people drifting by his place in the middle of the night and keeping him up. He told me about this weird practice.

What I think?

This is what happens when Jason Voorhees learns how to drive. Fuckin maniacs lol.

filmfann's avatar

I’m just wondering how many videos were removed that resulted in crashes.

What is there to think. Either a shot for a movie scene so everything was staged or just lucky idiots. The fact that someone kept facing outside the back window leads me to believe it was suppose to be some movie shot because I would find it hard to believe anyone is that much of a crack head. But then you never really know. Maybe it is a crack head.

Wow. That’s intense. I bet the guy’s a stunt driver trying to show off.
P.S, I love how it says, “as seen on Fluther Newborn Questions.” Youtube mention!

jerv's avatar

Insane, but the fact that they didn’t loop it completely tells me that they actually have more driving skills than most of the people i share the road with in Seattle. Growing up in New England, drifting is a fact of life for anybody who drives year-round.

@Symbeline Could be worse; could be Japan! I want to drive like Takumi Fujiwara!

CaptainHarley's avatar

This just goes to show that insanity is no respecter of persons, nations or religions. We ALL have our crazies! Heh!

Berserker's avatar

@jerv Good point. As mentioned, anything involving accidents is probably omitted from YT, if it’s ever submitted…but ya gotta recognize that some of em got mad skills…still, they should be doing that in a place where they can’t harm anyone but themselves. How hard is that? It’s fuckin desert land over there! XD

jerv's avatar

@Symbeline Part of the thrill is the risk of major consequences for failure. For instance, walking along a 6-inch wide beam three feet off the ground is nothing, but walking the same beam three feet above a pool full of sharks or three hundred feet off the ground is exciting.

Berserker's avatar

@jerv Yeah I kind of figured. What would be the point of this sport if it wasn’t for dodging important things, and the adrenaline rush that comes with? I don’t imagine that the peeps doing this would get the same feeling in the middle of nowhere. But if that was me, I’d probably just be happy with the weeeee!! feeling that drifting probbaly gives you lol.
