How do you know your inner child is alive and well?

Asked by Adirondackwannabe (36713points) January 6th, 2012

The hallway at my office was empty today, so I cranked the tunes. I had Alice in Chains Dirt cd going at 26 on the player. Two teenagers were just wandering around checking out the building. They wandered in to my office to listen too. They were loving the music, and one of them looks at me and says ” I didn’t think someone you’re em em .” So I said someone my age can’t love rock and roll? Made them laugh.

On New Year’s Eve, my 53 year old husband, a 65 year old friend and I sneaked into our community pool and took a swim at 1 a.m. It made me feel like a teenager again. Great way to start the New Year.

You know because of all the little things that still give you joy! Cherry blossom petals on the sidewalk in the rain, happiness that makes you want to skip and twirl, the fact that it’s still fun to play with crayons, the fact that Roger Miller’s You Can’t Rollerskae in a Buffalo Herd song still makes you smile….:)

Because the little bastard still eats too much ice cream, loves to stir up trouble and never pays the rent on time.

@ragingloli Come on. Anyone can buy bugs. Go for the Lamborghini and work from there.

I sing “London Bridge” with the grandsons while driving. The two and half year old usually starts it and we all join in.

I’ll sit on the floor to play a game.
I get mad, uncontrollable cases of the giggles.
I want both the ice cream cone and the quarter.
I ask “why?”
I adore balloons.

Today, I danced around the house with my 3 year old niece shaking a Miss Kitty tamborine and loved it!
I eat sweets until I feel nauseous and never learn my lesson.
I want to be an explorer, a ballet dancer, a deep sea diver…

I can sit on the floor with a newborn to 6 year old and have a great time. I just had a blast with a two month old baby.

I’m with @RealEyesRealizeRealLies when it comes to ice cream; I think up pranks; (but can seldom find anyone who’ll join me); I lose track of time and don’t care.

When you’re happy to hear a favourite song, when you’re caring enough to help someone else be strong, it means that you see life as equal opportunity for all in a way that builds everyone up into their own uniqueness and heck you can even taste gravel without having to get your stomach pumped out to be on the safe side.:)

@ BKCUNNINGHAM – I tip my hat to you all ! It’s great to hear that people are still daring, young at heart, youthful and ready to go!!!!! Please do yourselves a favor and do more of those things…...they keep you on your toes! You guys must always be great fun to be around.

smilingheart I was with you all the way on the first 2 things….but I got really confused about the eating gravel part

Openness and non conformity and creativity keep you young at heart. J. Krishnamurti says it better though-

I’m still pretty young but I know I’m still even younger because I carry my sonic screwdriver with me almost always.
