Tell you what. Provide me with a sample bowl of each, and I’ll get back to you.

All three contain a ton of salt. And, eaten at bedtime can assure you of water weight gain in the morning.

How about a plain bowl of low sodium, fat-free cottage cheese, instead?

Cottage cheese is very high in sodium, @john65pennington. :)

I would have to look at the nutritional info on the back. Which has more fat? Which has more preservatives? Any cholesterol? That’s how I would decide.

If you watch your salt, I don’t, then check that too.

It depends on how the popcorn is prepared. Regular air popped popcorn without butter is generally healthier than the others because it contains fiber and doesn’t have any fat. Once you add butter though, that changes. Also, if you get the microwave popcorn, that changes because the microwave popcorn has oil already added and then becomes not as healthy as the air popped.

For chips, it would depend on how they are made as well (baked versus fried) and what they have on them (salt, flavorings, etc.).

For the cheese puffs, it would also depend on how they are made and what they have on them for flavoring.

Popcorn
– Good: Tastes amazing with a little salt and butter.
– Bad: Takes 2 to 3 minutes to make.

Cheese Puffs
– Good : Crunchy, yet fluffy.
– Bad: Cheesy residue on fingers.

Potato Chips
– Good: Millions of flavors.
– Bad: Greasy and messy.

Results: Popcorn FTW, yall!

Air popped popcorn, No butter. (best) 1 Cup 31 Calories, 0.4 grams fat, 6.2 g carbs 1 gram Protein
Cheetos, 1 oz, 160 calories, 10 grams fat, 15 grams carbs, 2 grams protein
Potato chips, 1 oz package(15 chips), 160 Calories, 10 grams fat, 15 grams carbs, 2 grams protein.

If you are going for health, I would say go with the popcorn. More volume and less calories.

Popcorn is a great snack if you pop it yourself and don’t buy Orville Redenbacher extra butter style. Then you can lightly butter and salt it and it’s a great source of fiber!

Popcorn is the healthiest as long as you don’t drench it in butter and salt. My kids love it without butter and just a little bit of salt.

Popcorn is the healthiest. Snack-o-Jacks on the other hand are healthy and amazingly scrumptious.

Popcorn. You can pop your own in a brown paper bag in the microwave, if you don’t have an air popper. If you can eat it plain, great. I need some flavor so I either use a small amount of butter and light salt, or a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.

Any of these are less calories and additives than chips or cheese puffs.

I’m a kettle corn addict. My grocery sells a locally made organic kettle corn made with maple syrup..OMG! I can eat the entire big, easily. lol

I love cheese popcorn, i.e. Smart Food or any cheddar popcorn.
