Men, would you even notice if your woman was always checking out other guys?

Asked by Imadethisupwithnoforethought (14682points) January 10th, 2012

This question “LADIES! Do you find it insulting if you’re out with your man and he is constantly checking out other women?” caught my eye, and made me consider the opposite.

Then I realized I don’t think I have ever, in my entire life, observed women checking out men, or caught my girlfriend checking out a man, but I assume it happens.

My apologies if something similar has been asked previously.

Looking does not cause any damage, as long as it is not acted on

I’d notice if she didn’t bring my beer on demand.

Yes, but not while I’m casually glancing at other chicks.

Never thought about it or really noticed, and the few times I have, I gave 0 fucks.

Sometimes she does that, but then I pull her leash a bit tighter.

Yes, I’m observant like that, but if and when that happens I’m not going to say a thing until much much later.

Women in general aren’t as visually stimulated as men are, so it’s tougher to catch them..but yes I would like to think I would notice and it wouldn’t bother me. It’s only natural.

My last girlfriend did and would say something about it too. Glad that did not last.

Imadethisupwithnoforethought's avatar

@ohVaNiLLaGoRiLLa did you notice before she said something?

Someone already took my answer. Women are much more difficult to catch doing this. It is very difficult to catch most women checking out a guy. I notice everything though.

I, as a woman, look all the time, just like men. We are human and are attracted to many people. I just don’t stare and I’m not obvious like most guys are. We are stealth peekers O.O

ohVaNiLLaGoRiLLa's avatar

@Imadethisupwithnoforethought Yes I did notice she would stare. Then she would say something.

Like @Ponderer983 says, we are much stealthier when it comes to our checking out of attractive guys whilst out wit an SO, but we do it.

digitalimpression's avatar

My wife does it all the time. I don’t really mind. She sees people as pieces of art. I’m abstract and I know it.

When I do it, I mention it to my husband (if the object of my gaze is mention-worthy). As long as one isn’t drooling all over oneself, I don’t really understand why this bothers people in the first place. People are attractive! Oh noes!

There have been a couple of Fluther questions about what physical features women find attractive on a man. I remember a great number of responses were “eyes”, “smile”, “hands”, “shoulders”.
We’re not likely to get caught-out ogling those aspects. :)

@KatawaGrey @Ponderer983 Most women are stealthy, but when you actually catch them, it’s hilarious. I’ve seen a table with a group of women stop talking mid-sentence and turn heads.

WillWorkForChocolate's avatar

My husband only notices when I drool over Johnny Depp, Viggo Mortenson and Daniel Craig. He doesn’t seem to mind.

Ponderer983's avatar

@Blackberry Was it all women? If it is only women, or a woman who isn’t with a S/O, we don’t need to be subtle. If we are around our S/O, then we go into DefCon 5.

Blackberry's avatar

@Ponderer983 Oh, yeah I forgot the premise for a second. It was only women.

Imadethisupwithnoforethought's avatar

@Blackberry so you have caught women doing it, but not your woman?

Blackberry's avatar

@Imadethisupwithnoforethought Yeah, I’ve caught someone I’ve been with doing it, but I didn’t care.
