Just for fun: What's your favorite "Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song?"?

Asked by janbb (62868points) January 11th, 2012

Feeling a case of the “mean reds” and wondering what your favorite break-up or revenge song is? Two of mine are Buddy Holly’s “It Don’t Matter Anymore” and “I Will Survive.” Yours? (Links if you feel like it.)

For the “mean reds” state of mind, one of my faves is Linda Ronstadt’s “You’re No Good.” Currently, Adele’s “Someone Like You” gets me choked up every time.

Fleetwood Mac (I also like the Matchbox Twenty version)

Song for the Dumped by Ben Folds Five

And can’t forget Cee Lo Green’s ‘Forget’ You (it was better as Fuck You).
I’m not a country music fan personally, but another popular one is Carrie Underwood’s Before He Cheats.

I also love Carrie Underwood’s Before He Cheats even though I am not a country music fan.

Here is an excerpt from Slayer’s “Exile” (clears throat):

Just tell me fucking why everything becomes an issue
Your opinion is always senseless – fuck this
You make my fucking skin crawl
I’ve lived with it – can’t stand anymore
My worst nightmare….....

I don’t really have or listen to songs like that, but I thought of this song because the lyrics coincide with it, but it’s not really a song one should listen to in that situation lol.

Is there life after love or something like that by Cher- that whole album really.

It’s To Late Carole King
From my youth, Last Song I’ll ever Write for You (Corney alert.)
I will Survive (One of the greatest break up songs)
And then there’s the one from the Musical Oklahoma, Many a New Day (song doesn’t start until about 1.45 into the video.)

@Blackberry: Funny, I thought Burt Bacharach wrote that one.

@cprevite I had to look up who that was….lol.

@Blackberry: Quite the contrast, no? But I bet Dione Warwick could’a pulled off that Slayer song. Lol.

Have you heard of Ryan Shaw? He’s a recent R+B artist who has this great upbeat song called ’It’s Over’. (Go ahead to 1:00 for the song).

Shitlist by L7 is a good one, hardly my favorite, but it worked well for that scene in Natural Born Killers.

You Wouldn’t Know Love by Cher definitely tops the list.

@faye I think you mean Believe.
