Have you ever sent a camera to the "edge" of space?

Asked by ganti_x89 (375points) January 13th, 2012

Me and my Aeronautical Engineering class is doing this as a project. We are having problems with trying to find a parachute.

If you have done this and have ideas of what we can use, any suggestions would help a lot.

There’s a magazine I read called Nuts ‘N’ Volts for electronics hobbyists. It has a monthly column on “near space” by a rocket enthusiast who sends various payloads (including cameras) to the edge of space. You might find something useful in one of these articles.

Here’s a pertinent discussion.

That sounds like a super interesting and fun project. Good luck!
