How common are orangish brown eyes?

Asked by RockerChick14 (951points) January 16th, 2012 from iPhone

I’m wondering because when my sister takes close up pictures of herself with the flash on, her eyes look like a orangish dark brown color.

What’s with the fixation on eye colors?

Photos taken with a flash distort eye colors. What color are your sister’s eyes when you look into them?

Well, I have them… if that helps.

So… orange/brown count—> 1 so far.

I dated a guy with bright yellow eyes like a wolf.
All eye colors are possible.

Actually, the guy turned out to be rather wolfish- but that is surely a coincidence.

My eyes are golden green. It never comes out in flash photos. Eye color you have to see in person.

My daughter has cat’s eyes. They are honey colored with flecks of green and brown.

(Do you have a sister on Fluther who is also interested in brown eyes and the Brits?)

@gailcalled – that would be my best friend and we like almost all the same things which is why we’re best friends.

My eyes are hazel-green. Sometimes they are very hazel, sometimes very green. that’s what I’ve been told

I’ve been told that my brown eyes can sometimes look orange – which may depend on the light or what i’m wearing. haven’t heard it in a while though

We should all upload a picture of our eyes or eye, then we can answer your question more accurately.

MIlo here; ^^ I thought you’d never ask. Green eyes

It’s common for people with “brown” eyes. One of my brothers has eyes like these whereas mine are gold/brown and another brother has hazel/green. Brown eyes have as much of a color spectrum as blue and geen ones. Some brown eyes are so dark, the iris seems to be absent.
