Quick way to get rid of cuts and scars?

Asked by itsjustcruel (387points) January 22nd, 2012

Im going on holiday on Febuary and again in August, my legs are covered in cuts and some pretty nasty scars. Is there a way I can get rid of them or make them fade?

Mederma is helpful in fading scars.

Vitamin A&D cream may help, but time is the only thing I know that really makes them fade.

Vit. C & E for internal healing effect and Vit. E oil for exterior healing.
Yes, time is key, scars will fade, but many will never go away completely, depending on the size and depth of the wound.

Vitamin E oil. Also, anytime the area is exposed to sun use a good sunscreen with Zinc Oxide. The sun will make the scars darker.

I recently had experimented with something I read about scars. I always thought that letting them heal and air out would help. Found out that things like peroxide or alcohol can actually cause the tissue to scar worse. Also found out that when using ointments or treatments like tea trea oil, that a bandaid over the scar can help by keeping it moist and it will help it heal faster. I used tea tree oil and a band aid at night and it has made a difference. I also keep it well lotioned up during the day. Its on my face so I find it awkward to wear a bandaid on my face during the day. But it has sped up the healing process. Before that I tried all sorts of things and they all just seemed to make it worse.
I don’t know if it will work in the time you need it too, but at least it should look better.
