How do I go about finding an online editorial from a newspaper about equal pay for men and women or gender discrimination that is recent?

Asked by punkrockworld (960points) January 31st, 2012

Recent as in at most 2 weeks ago… everything I found so far is too outdated! I’m sure there are editorials out there that are from a couple days ago, because Obama just talked about it. I need help! All help is welcome~

I searched the Google “News” area for “Equal Pay” and it pulled many results- some from just an hour ago.

I think you will find what you need in them.

Just a note- when searching always find two keywords or more together and put them in quotes. This will pull the most relevant articles.

Happy hunting!

I typed in “obama signed the lilly ledbetter bill” and it showed these results:

One coming straight from whitehouse.gov, it also has a video showing President Obama signing the Act into an actual Law, here’s the link:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2012/01/30/archives-president-obama-signs-lilly-ledbetter-fair-pay-act

Another is an article from Rep. Hank Johnson’s site, which talks about the 3rd anniversary of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act last January 29, 2012 when Pres. Obama formally signed the Act into Law, here’s the link:

Finally, an editorial from Devin Dwyer of ABC OTUS News published 12 hours ago, here’s the link:

@punkrockworld I’m glad you found a suitable answer. For future reference, if GOogle or Bing won’t get you a recent newspaper op-ed piece, You might try the site search tool on some major newspaper websites. Better ones let you specify what section to search. Set it to search the Ei=ditorial Page, or Op-Ed pages. And if they allow filtering of search results, sort by date. THen type in your topic and you should find their most recent pieces.
