Pulse light to audio in after effects?

Alright, so I’m going to be using after effects to overlay a moving GIF over my face for rant videos, however, I want it to be more than that. I was wondering if there si a way to get the color on the gid (blue) to pulse/light us as a talk, sort of like a visualizer. I think it would be really cool, but maybe really hard since the GIF will already be tracking my face.

@auhsojsa But I don’t want to have to edit every frame of the rotating GIF, that has a lot of different parts, to pulse with my voice frame by frame then insert it. That would be impossible.
