What "silly" things are you addicted to?

Asked by WillWorkForChocolate (23163points) February 9th, 2012

“Silly” would be an item that is somewhat impractical or an unusual addiction.

I have a strange addiction to purse shopping. It doesn’t matter how many I have, I can always get excited over shopping for a new purse. Whether I need one or not. It’s become a bit of a joke between my husband and me.

So what “silly” things are you addicted to? Purses? Shoes? Kitchen utensils?

I love shopping for new school supplies. Every year when it’s time to go school supply shopping for the new school year I get so excited!

I also always love buying new makeup.

I love Jams World aloha shirts. I don’t buy many, because I simply can’t afford them. That doesn’t stop my lust.

I also love Walkers Shortbread.

Any jelly who wishes is welcome to send me either a Jams World aloha shirt or some Walkers shortbread. Send me a private message, and I’ll send you the shipping details. :)

I like Walkers shortbread too. I like to find old sewing and crafting books from the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s and any gadgets from that time to go with the books. I love yarn, and books, and fabric and beads and well, way too much of everything homemakey/crafty/etc. Especially if I can go to boutique shops and antique shops and thrift shops to find these items. I look for Terence Conran texts because I fell in love with his design concepts long ago. I also look for Arts and Craft examples, and Art Deco pieces. I don’t necessarily buy, I just look.

I cannot resist taking free soaps etc. from hotels.

I love stationery.

Books… not silly… but I can’t resist books.

Lol@Hawaii_Jake… I would be very happy to send you Walkers Shortbread. It is delicious and so are you!

@Bellatrix : Don’t joke about sending me Walkers Shortbread without the determination to actually do it, and calling me delicious won’t get you off the hook either. ~

I will message you right now and you can send me your address. I can get that stuff easily. Is it not available in your shops routinely?

For me, it is pork pies… thank goodness I can’t get them or I would look like the side of a house.

I love white page books. Mostly sketch books with cool covers. I have tons of all kinds, even some with hard covers that have fairies or dragons carved into them. I enjoy drawing, but I use single sheets for that. I hate drawing in sketch or art books. So that’s why it’s silly; I can’t resist the urge to buy a sketch book, yet I’m never gonna use it, or barely.

I also love Halloween decorations, all year round. I stock up at the dollar store during the time of year with all this silly Halloween stuff, and it serves as permanent decoration in my place.

Stationery and art & craft supplies. Whenever anyone asks me what I want for Christmas/birthday, I tell them to get me vouchers for my local art/craft store.
