Where do you go for international news?

Inspired by Nikipedia’s question.

Where do you go for international news? What makes you partial to that news outlet, and not all the others?

CBC

Unbiased. Covers international news.

@Jude So, do you know if those things are available in the US? I know the reason I don’t watch BBC (save for the half-hour BBC America segment on PBS) is because it’s not available in the US (or, at least, not unless you can afford some seriously premo cable packages).

@Aethelflaed You should be able to see some video here.

I don’t get my international news by watching the BBC. I read it online. I read stories from dozens of papers and other sources around the world.

@Aethelflaed Let me know what you think.

For the CBC, you have to pay for their livestream (6 Canuck bucks).

You may want to have a look here, though.

BBC online
Yahoo (sometimes a good place to start as they compile news from other sources)
PBS online
Sometimes I actually look at major newspapers of other countries to see their POV and what their propaganda is. One thing I am grateful for Google Chrome with its translating ability.

I try to read/view a variety of news programs in an attempt to get several views on “the truth:” Al Jazzera, Russia Today, CNN, Fox News, and a smattering of blogs.

Al Jazeera (my girlfriend translates) and Al Jazeera English (which is sanitized for the audience)
Important to know what the people who want to kill you are talking about.

I wait for the news to come to me. lol

Usually BBC, either on NPR or online.

I do still look at the actual newspaper that we still have delivered, but I don’t read it every day. I also get one newsmagazine and sometimes pick up another at a newsstand.

BBC and PBS. NPR in my car. When traveling in Canada, I really enjoy CBC.

NPR does not seem to me to be a reputable news source. Sorry!

ARD, ZDF, BBC, CNNI, SZ, Spiegel, Zeit, Time, the Google News summaries.

@ragingloli

Obviously you read and select only that which supports whatever case you are trying to make. FoxNews was only one of many sources I use, among which are also Al Jazera and Russia Today. Tisk!

Aethelflaed's avatar

@CaptainHarley But, presumably, you watch Fox News because you find it in some way reputable? I think what @ragingloli is objecting to is the idea that Fox News is more reputable than NPR.

Time, The Today Show, Good Morning America, Sheppard Smith, Megan Kelly, the local newspaper.

All news is news unless its political., then it has an agenda. I wish people would make that distinction when they ask (and answer) such questions.

Euro news…someone told me it’s one of the only ones that isn’t owned by rupert murdoch, here. But I only watch the news every once in a while as I find is depressing.
