What does ' I do enjoy the regular cocaine mean'?

Asked by nailpolishfanatic (6637points) February 12th, 2012

I have been flirting with one of my guy friends pretty much all day today. It all started last night when we both attended the same party and he was there as a dancer. His group had a show. Later that same night we met down town and we were walking around town wrapping our arms around each other. Our plan was to get into a club but it never happened so we separated ways and went home. Then today we’ve texting each other pretty much all day. It was a pretty intense flirt. Then somewhat through the conversation he said to me “I do enjoy the regular cocaine” what does it mean?

Maybe you should text him and ask him what he meant? Just a suggestion.

Have you asked him?

SpatzieLover's avatar

It means you should have a red flag up. I agree with both above: Ask him to clarify.

nikipedia's avatar

I think it means he enjoys using cocaine on a regular basis.

Call me crazy, it’s just a hunch, but I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say perhaps he’s a cocaine user.

He meant “regular coffee”. Damn auto-correct function.

If not…. Run!
You’ve been warned.

@LuckyGuy Stranger things have happened ;)

@nailpolishfanatic Let me clarify my statement above:
Clarify by talking, not through texting.

You say I ask him, so I will do so. @SpatzieLover but it’s weird… I don’t wanna flirt with him in person haha

rebbel's avatar

He doesn’t like decaf.

jrpowell's avatar

I also enjoy the regular cocaine.

@nailpolishfanatic If you don’t want to talk..then text or email.

I’m blunt. My text back would be “Cocaine? WTF?!”

His response would indicate where I’d go from there.

Cocaine as opposed to crack, I would think.

nailpolishfanatic's avatar

Oh I just texted him, it was a joke lol and I sure as hell didn’t understand it. How embarrassing!

creative1's avatar

It doesn’t sound like something I would think someone would say as a jokeā€¦. I would be really on my guard with him

janbb's avatar

@nailpolishfanatic If you are embarassed by not understanding his weird joke, maybe this isn’t worth pursuing.

Blondesjon's avatar

If you have to ask you you probably don’t want to know.

jazmina88's avatar

I think it means he snorts it, but does not smoke or inject it. It could be worse?? jk

tranquilsea's avatar

never, never joke in PMs, e-mails or texting with out using this: ;-P jk

It means that there’s a road sign which says “Proceed With Extreme Caution”

Ignore it to your detriment.

Most non-drug users are simply not in the habit of sprinkling their conversations with jokey drug references. I suppose there may be a rare exception, but I have yet to encounter one. Just plain ol’ common sense here.

Ignore the warning signs at your peril.

You must be kidding me. Not exactly something you put on your resume.

dappled_leaves's avatar

A joke is a joke. He was probably riffing on something she had just written to him. Chill out, folks – it does not in any way constitute a red flag.

jrpowell's avatar

Or it was a line in a movie we have never seen.

Buttonstc's avatar

@dappledleaves

And you know this how?

At least your qualifier using the word “probably” is honest.

Let’s face it, none of us can possibly know for certain one way or another I didn’t even remotely suggest she dump him immediately or something.

I merely suggested paying attention to any other indications of a possible pattern here. If nothing else occurs, then fine. No harm no foul.

Better safe than sorry never does any harm.

lemming's avatar

I think she’s gone. We did our best..

Buttonstc's avatar

Who’s gone? And what’s that based on?

tranquilsea's avatar

The OP left.

I think it is a little unfair post a provocative question title and then cry foul when people rise to the occasion.

Wrong question! Sorry the OP is still here. I’m sick and clearly not paying good enough attention

nailpolishfanatic's avatar

I’m still here people. Thank you for all your suggestions but I know he was joking because in the text before I asked him if he did drugs… it went somewhat like “dude, are you on drugs?” I forgot I had written that to him earlier.

SpatzieLover's avatar

Thanks for the update & the context @nailpolishfanatic. It does change the perspective shed on this quite a bit. :)

nailpolishfanatic's avatar

Aha indeed. @SpatzieLover People were going bonkers here. But it’s understandable because I didn’t quite explain everything or update at all.

Buttonstc's avatar

Yes. That previous Q of yours to him was rather a critical piece of info. all things considered.

Bonkers? Really? Good grief.

Note to self: be sure to skip these types of Qs. in the future.
