When you stay at a hotel do you tip the maid daily?

I do. I prefer daily because what if the maid changes during your stay? Why should the one on the last day of your stay get the whole pot?

Or, maybe hotel maids pool their tips? I doubt it though. It would be great if someone who works in the hotel business chimes in.
