Why does my kitten have these super hyper moments?

Asked by Luiveton (4162points) February 17th, 2012

My kitten, Skittles, tends to have these moments where she’s all hyped up. She keeps running around clawing at everything, and biting everything—In a playful manner. Is she just playing or what? It’s a little weird because she’s running around super fast. She also jumps from the slightest movement. I’m just curious, not worried. :)

Kitten=Youthful Energy

All of my cats still do this (the eldest is 15), after they poop. Apparently, pooping lightens their load so to speak.

Yes, kitten zippiness. Enjoy it, in a few years she’ll be couch potato cat.

Yep, @Coloma. There Zoe (age 15) is curled up in a ball. She hasn’t moved for hours.

Dickens the kitten? Oh yeah, he’s been sprayed with water about a dozen times today. Spraying is my last resort training method. He’s crazy wild today.

@SpatzieLover Haha…I’m waiting on my friend and just looked at my two, one on the top of the cat tree in a ball and the other sprawled out upside down on my bed. I call him the “professional sleeper. Nice job ey? lol

Curiosity, mixed with suprise, mixed with agility, mixed with youth, mixed with honing hunting skills, and you have yourself a small soft ball or energizer bunny. Or it could just be this .

@Pandora Haha. Cats, they’re nuts!
My female has discovered the wicker trunk in my bedroom where I keep all my PJ’s. I toss the throw pillows on it at night from my bed. Tonight I hear this commotion and she is flinging all the pillows off and trying to wedge her head under the lid. Sooo….it is now propped open with a pillow about 6 inches and she is happily napping on my PJs in her new secret place.

The purr-fect ambush is being plotted. lol

Cats are always weird, that’s the fun of them. Mine would chase the fly swatter as long as I moved it around. I just try to stay away from the tiny claws and sharp teeth. We had a scratching post that had a spring mounted feather on top. Watching the kitten clime up the post and take a whack at the feather just before falling of is a riot.
