Do you like to go over past questions and answers?

Asked by Keep_on_running (6759points) February 18th, 2012

Sometimes I go back to the beginning and read what my thoughts were back then. It’s interesting going on older sites I used to visit and reading up on the things I once thought and felt.

Kind of like viewing old photos, but instead they are snapshots of your mind. Or is this just another in the long list of symptoms of narcissism?

Sometimes I’ll see that someone has lurved an old answer that I don’t even remember giving, so I’ll go back and read it out of curiosity. That’s about the extent of it. The only benefit I get from doing that is the reminder that stuff I say here sticks around for a long time. Sure makes me more careful about clicking that “Answer” button.

I don’t do this. Too many new questions to keep up with. Also, I’m not interested in my old thoughts. I’m only interested in the next thought.

I’m with @thorninmud usually it is only when I get a GA from a long dormant Q will I go back and revisit it. I’m a quick mover on-er…I answer and usually delete the Q, depending on what it is, within the same day, if not the same hour often. lol

Yes, I do this quite often. And, most of the time, I find myself giving a 2nd Answer of something I had not thought of before.

Once in a green moon, I’ll do that. But more often, I’ll notice one of the Related questions off to the right and click on it and realize that it’s an old question. I’ll answer it anyway, and sometimes it’ll pick up again as a result of my answer. That happened to me last night, actually. I answered an old question that I noticed on the right, and got into a discussion with the OP that went back and forth a few times.

On occasion, sorta depends on my mood and who I am.

I don’t seek them out. Like @thorninmud and @Coloma have said, it would usually only be in response to a GA on an old question.

There are times when I do. There are also times when I’m afraid to.

I very rarely look back at my old questions and answers. Sometimes when I look for a question for a link for a current question I get a little hooked on an old thread and read through my old answers, but not often.

I don’t do it often, but sometimes I feel like it, and it’s always pretty interesting. I wish I had some magical Harry Potter artifact that made this easier though. I post so much boring shit. :D

I certainly do love to see questions and convos that jellies had that were about zombies though, whether I was in them or not. :) Always cool.

Not deliberately. Occasionally I’ll bump into an old answer and think, briefly, that someone really knowledgable, very clever, and extremely interesting wrote it.

Then Milo will remind me of his formidable ghost-writing talents and my role as scribe.

No. I’m trying to have a life and I’m wasting enough of it on Fluther as it is without looking over last years fabulous winners.

I love it! Considering I have but two answers, this included, it doesn’t take very long, either!

Yes @clod, but who were you prior to this reincarnation?

clod's avatar

What reincarnation? As a clod, I can’t understand big words like that…

Oh, I’m like rain man when it comes to riddles. Also, I’m not sure of which you speak.

Only to revisit the funny moments we’ve had on here. I’ve engaged in quite a few shenanigans since I’ve joined this site and it’s always fun to look back.

I like the idea of keeping a diary or journal, yet I’ve never actually done it.

I thought once it might be a good one-day project to copy/paste all my Fluther answers (prefaced by the corisponding question) into a document. Once completed, it would kind of be ”@cprevite’s thoughts on…”

Kind of an insta-journal by way of Fluther.

Nah, I just try to read the new things. Besides, I am ok with my feelings or thoughts changing on things.
