What are some great intro/opening songs for powerful short video?

Asked by pallen123 (1519points) February 20th, 2012

I’m putting together a short—1–2 minute video that’s intended to have high impact and be show in an arena. What songs and intros, like Van Halen’s Higher and Higher, do you think have a powerful, dramatic, moving impact?

It’s hard to attempt a suggestion without know what the subject/message of the video is and the projected demographic make-up of the audience. Can you provide a little more information, please?

The live version of Emerson, Lake & Palmer’s Peter Gunn?

The beginning of “I don’t remember” by Peter Gabriel (known as “Start”) has a floating, jazzy feel.
The beginning of the live version of “Sweet Jane” by the Velvet Underground is beautiful.
The beginning of the live version of “Romeo and Juliet” by Dire Straits is also otherworldly.

Maybe something by Mark Knopfler either with Dire Straits or solo.

Or White Cliffs of Dover by Eric Johnson

I love the chorus of Into The Wild by LP—it’s currently being used in a TV commercial.
