Fucking gorgeous. You probably couldn’t do much skiing. That is really early. It snows at the highest points in the state Aug/Sept – May but I doubt you could ski. It is warm and pleasant and sunny almost every day though, so…yeah. Awesome.

It would be lovely and warm, sunny but not hot. There wouldn’t yet be enough snow for winter sports, and it is going to be a bit nippy in the high elevations. With last year’s snow gone and the new snow not there yet, it might be a good time of year to explore the many ghost towns in the high elevations.

Thanks for responses, I wasn’t sure what else to do in Colorado.

pretty freaking awesome, absolutely beautiful.

You won’t find much snow at that time, even in the mountains. I was in Vail around that time last year, and even in the ski town of all ski towns, not a flake to be found.

But there’s PLENTY to do otherwise. Take on one of the legendary fourteeners (to which road access is limited in snowy seasons).

It depends, it can be really warm, or really cold, and even in the middle. The one thing that I can say is that it is beautiful either way. But it would be way too early to go skiing. On average, December through mid-March is a good time to go skiing and snowboarding. But don’t be sad, if you want to see beautiful scenery, and not be too hot or too cold, Sept. is a really good time of year to head out here.
