What is your favorite reference material to browse through?

Asked by Imadethisupwithnoforethought (14682points) February 27th, 2012

Do you read the dictionary or encyclopedias for relaxation? Perhaps an online wiki?

Which is your favorite? Any particularly well done?

F4 on my MacBookPro for Dictionary and Thesaurus when I write :D (and when I say write I don’t mean answer questions on Q and A sites, I’m reckless abandon when it comes to social media)

There’s not really one site. But, I collect scholarly articles in a folder and will read them in my free time. Or, Google Books.

I collect things from all over the place. I save news articles I have wanted to read and haven’t had time, journal articles, books, blogs, websites. The list is endless. I tend to collect things I know I will want in the future too. Twitter often supplies a range of documents I save and file for later.

Cookbooks and cooking sites. Encyclopedias, paper,hand-held, weigh about 40 pounds ones. I am that old fashioned and geeky. come in a close second.

It varies all the time. Lately it has been Fluther. I like reading some of the different perspectives, they can spark ideas and make me think a little deeper about certain things. I often bookmark questions and write my anwer in a journal I have rather than onsite.

TV Tropes eats up a good chunk of my reading time. If I open one tab, soon they will multiply.
