How long will it take for my California I.D. card to come in the mail?

Asked by Marchofthefox (787points) March 22nd, 2012

Hello all, I recently went to the DMV to get my I.D. card for various things. I applied for the I.D. card about fourteen business days ago. How much longer should it be until I receive it? I live in California.
Thank you.

Why not simply call the DMV office and ask someone if it has been mailed or perhaps has been lost in the mail.

Bureaucrats need to be nagged (politely) sometimes.

Hi. In my experience it took about a month. I believe they tell you it’s going to be a 4–6 week process hence the reason they hand out interim license paper placards. My last upgrade though was in 2008.

4–6 weeks is standard. You’d think with all these other states besides CA doing instant cards on the spot that it’d be quicker.

Hello, I do not know where you are located, but, my brother-in-law and my husband, both, received theirs in seven to ten bussiness days. We live in Concord, California. So I would give them a call!
