Ok, so those of you who have been on a cruise with a balcony cabin. Is the balcony private enough for “amorous activity”? During the day?

Yes. At least on the cruise ships I have been on, the balconies are separated from each other with solid walls on each side. Sound may carry, however.

If that works out okay for you, then be cautious of the seafood buffet they serve on deck. Sometimes, the ice melts too fast and bacteria can set in, causing you to have a ruined vacation. This happened to my daughter. She is still sick from warm seafood.

@Trillian So, skip Tuesday but Monday and Wednesday are ok?

That depends on how close to the shore you are cruising, and which side of the ship you are on. But the cruises I have been on the balconies are private enough for the most part.

I was on a Princess cruise, and no, the balcony was not private enough. So, I guess it varies according to the ship. You need to call the cruise line to find out for sure.

It was private enough on the Queen Mary 2 but as it was late autumn in the north Atlantic we didn’t put it to the test.

Depends on the ship. Might partly depend on the location of your cabin.

Just so you know, a gay couple was kicked off a cruise just last week, and arrested for having sex on a balcony while they were in port in Dominica. It was because it was quite visible from land.
