Anyone know of a free journal and calendar program for windows?

Asked by noodle_poodle (1614points) April 7th, 2012

I am looking for an easy to use program that I can use to keep a diary, events log and that has alerts to remind me of upcoming events. It would be extra useful if images could be uploaded. Anyone know of anything like that? It doesn’t have to be completely free but has to be able to be trialled.
All responses gratefully received :)

Does it have to be software? Can it be an online application? You can’t upload photos, but I like Google Calendar (free). There isn’t a “diary” option per se, but you can create an event each day with a description which would be the diary content.

Example showing a “diary” entry and alert capability: http://i.imgur.com/6aqaW.png

There is also offline access capability if you use Google Chrome: http://support.google.com/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1340696

For a daily appointments calendar, I use Rainlendar, which was recommended to me here on Fluther. I’m perfectly happy with the free version; it’s simple but adequate. If by “diary” you mean a schedule of coming events (and not a journal or personal narrative history), this will do it.
