I’m embarrassed to ask this question, but I’d like to hear the answer.
When having sex, a woman may have a lot of fluid involved in lubrication and in having an orgasm. Where does this fluid come from? Are there glands I don’t know about? (my face is red).

Bartholin’s glands, I believe.

@Mariah Thank you. They were never mentioned in my Physiology class, but it wasn’t necessary to know that to do occupational therapy.

In regards to lubrication, only a little bit is believed to come from the Bartholin’s glands. The rest is believed to come right from the walls of the vagina due to vascular engorgement. There is also a Skene’s gland that may be responsible for female ejaculation (though it’s just a postulation right now). There is also fluid (mucus) that comes from the cervix at varying amounts throughout a woman’s cycle.
