How much loose leaf tea do you use in a tea pot?

Obviously, the size of the tea pot is going to make a difference, but I’ve often heard it said, “One spoonful per cup and one for the pot.”

What size cup? Is that a standard measuring cup?

What size spoon?

I’m experimenting with a new tea pot, and I can’t seem to get it right.
