Does anyone have experience with Basel-Mulhouse-Freiberg airport?

Guess my Fluther hiatus is over.

Hello, I am preparing for a flight next week out of Basel-Mulhouse-Freiberg airport, in Switzerland/France/Germany (middle of the three, middle of nowhere). It’s an EasyJet flight at 6:00 am, to Tel Aviv. Since it’s to Israel, someone suggested I do give myself the full two hours ahead of time for security.

I’m trying to figure out what to do until 4:00. The airport closes from midnight to 4:00, so I can’t just stay there. I’d rather not pay for a hostel for half a night.

Has anyone flown out of it, or have any other expertise? It really is in the middle of nowhere so it’ll be hard to just hang out (solo female traveler). There is an airport hotel, but it’s out of my price range and I doubt they’ll let me just hang out in the lounge.

Or are there nice bars in Basel (most likely) that are open late? Thanks!!

Are you sure the airport is closed? It might just not allow flights during those times.

Are you connecting there, and the first flight lands there late at night?

Nope, flying straight out of it. Easyjet, so inconvenient times and airports. But actually I’ve done more research and I think it might actually stay open all night. Voila!
