Well, I don’t know if I am as excited as you are, but I am excited.

syz's avatar

I’m looking forward to it.

I have a friend who posted on FB “Saw a sneak release of “The Avengers” last night. My life is forever changed. That is how awesome it was. I say now that it will be the best movie of 2012. Joss Whedon, you are a god.”

I think he may be even more excited than you.

(I watched a Firefly marathon this weekend.)

mazingerz88's avatar

@syz That’s it. That “My life is forever changed.” comment just tripled my excitement! And just so you know, I still haven’t taken the Firefly series and Serenity movie out of my Netflix queue even though I’ve already seen them. Heh.

Ayesha's avatar

Not as excited as you :) But excited!

Imadethisupwithnoforethought's avatar

I saw it.

I had a nerdgasm.

syz's avatar

@mazingerz88 Ha! I own them, and I still watched them when they come on cable tv.

(I thought you might like that post ;) )

Great googley moogley am I excited!!

Over the past three weeks I re-watched Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America – in that order.

I also watched online the two Marvel One Shots starring Clark Greg as Shield Agent Coulson (“The Consultant” and “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer”).

I’ve watched interviews with all the actors and watched each of the trailers about three times.

I have purchased my tickets to see it on Friday at 10AM (with a friend) and again at 4PM (with my daughter).

My armor is pollished, my eyes are glowing green, I’m swinging my hammer, and my shield has a fresh coat of paint.

I’m not just excited – I am READY to ASSEMBLE!!

now fetch me my Hellicarier

blueberry_kid's avatar

IM SUPER PUUUMMMPED!!!! LETS ASSEMBLE!!!

In all seriousness, I’m very much so looking forward to the movie.

mazingerz88's avatar

@syz Well, I’m learning hypnotism so I could hypnotize TV executives to pick up a new Firefly TV season.

@Imadethisupwithnoforethought Here is my Avengasmic moan…OoooohhHHHaaaahhhhuuuuuoooHHHaaahhhh….uuuuuuuhhhhh. ( writhing )

@cprevite What the…that’s a freakin great idea! I’m gonna do that, watch those movies! Thanks!

cookieman's avatar

“We’re not a team. We’re a time bomb!” – Bruce Banner

“This is nothing we were ever trained for.” – Black Widow

“Hulk… Smash!!” – Captain America

“I don’t play well with others.” – Tony Stark

@mazingerz88: It’s great. All the pieces fall together in the larger story.

ragingloli's avatar

Eh, I am not going to inflict that upon myself.

Berserker's avatar

Not much into those kinds of movies. But a guy at work is a huge fan of that stuff, and he’s pretty excited too. However, I do think Ironman is awesome, and he’s in this, isn’t he?

Michael_Huntington's avatar

Not me. The trailer reeks of pleb.
@Symbeline Evil Dead II was on last night! And it wasn’t censored or anything.

Imadethisupwithnoforethought's avatar

@mazingerz88 I still have a strange urge to find Joss Whedon and ask him if he wants to cuddle.

Michael_Huntington's avatar

Oh man. my lurve score is 12345. ahhahahahahaha what the fuck

Berserker's avatar

@Michael_Huntington I totally own that movie. all of em Didn’t know there was a censored version, although if it plays on TV that doesn’t surprise me…glad you got the whole thing. :) Censoring that movie is like drinking decaffeinated coffee.

filmfann's avatar

I am out of town this weekend but I might try and catch the Thursday night midnight showing before I go

Michael_Huntington's avatar

Well not to derail this thread any further but…
@Symbeline Yeah I saw Evil Dead II on another channel before and it was edited (e.g censored “fuck” and cut out some of the good gory scenes). I also own the DVD, but there wasn’t anything else on that night.

mangeons's avatar

I heard it was fantastic, but I don’t know a ton about it. I guess I’m a little excited, since people have said it’s good.

Berserker's avatar

@Michael_Huntington Someone who watches a movie on TV when they already own it; true fan, man. :D

mothermayi's avatar

Yes, I’m going to see it with a friend on Friday.

cookieman's avatar

@ragingloli: Now don’t make me angry. You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.

mazingerz88's avatar

Bruce Banner instead of Bruce Campbell in Evil Dead, Dead by Dawn. The Hulk possessed by demons. Arrrh…!

Imadethisupwithnoforethought's avatar

Seriously. The Hulk owns this movie.

mazingerz88's avatar

Oh yeah? That’s fine. But why do I keep missing Edward Norton as B.B.? Not that that other dude actor is bad but Norton’s kinda more edgy.

Imadethisupwithnoforethought's avatar

@mazingerz88 I liked Edward Norton as well. But the writing for the Hulk character is so much better than previously you learn to like the new guy.

Berserker's avatar

I heard that in the comic books, The Hulk destroyed the entirety of New York city. just putting that out there

mothermayi's avatar

@Imadethisupwithnoforethought Wrong. Thor owns this movie. Thor rocks!

Imadethisupwithnoforethought's avatar

@mothermayi Isn’t it so great the movie was so good we can argue about which character came out the best?

mothermayi's avatar

Thor. No argument. ;)

9doomedtodie's avatar

I watched the movie last Saturday. I can say it’s one time watch movie. Enjoy!

shalyn's avatar

I’m too really excited for “Avengers”... I think this would be best movie of the year.

Aesthetic_Mess's avatar

I’m excited, but not as excited as I am for The Dark Knight Rises

mazingerz88's avatar

Well kiddies!! Anyone out there going to a midnight screening? Will you go 3D or 2D? Will you want to watch with lots of other people, the theater crowded or the first showing when there would be less?

cookieman's avatar

Sitting in the theater right now – waiting for Avengers to begin.

a s s e m b l e

mazingerz88's avatar

Me too! Last night! Will do it again…in 3D this time. I take back my comment about Mark Ruffalo. He did a great spin on The Hulk…smashingly funny!

cookieman's avatar

Yeah, it was surprisingly funny. I loved it. It really moved at a breakneck pace.

Did you stay for the two after-credit scenes??

mazingerz88's avatar

No, I didn’t because I knew I’ll be doing that next time. Too many people last night. Just wanted to beat them out of there. Lol. I was eating at 3 am at my table though and googled what the after-credit scene was about. Heh heh. It is quite funny too and had something to do with what Stark said at the end. : )

I wouldn’t mind the spaceship Serenity making a cameo in that space scene. Right @syz? Lol.

mothermayi's avatar

Oooooh, it was BADASS!

cookieman's avatar

Yes. There were so many good moments.

blueberry_kid's avatar

I just saw it a few hours ago….the BEST expirience of my whole life. But, our seats weren’t the best. We got there a little late, and yet didn’t realize there were other nerds in Cincinnati. Yeah, the line wrapped around the entire theater just to get a seat.

Otherwise, the movie was GREAT!!!

mazingerz88's avatar

Loki to Hulk : Stop! I’m not going to be…

LOL.

cookieman's avatar

Tossed him like a rag doll.

mothermayi's avatar

I am a god, and I will not be bullied by… (slam slam slam!)
