(NSFW) What happens when something in you is prolapsed?

My doctor said a part of my rectum prolapsed—I have had no symptoms other than a small bulge on the inside wall of my vagina. He said it is very common but I never hear women talk about it so I’m embarrassed to discuss it.

Has anyone else experienced this? I haven’t had sex for a couple of years, but might soon. Does it change how you have sex?

Does it feel different for men when having sex with someone with a prolapse?

Does anyone know a way to fix it without surgery?
