What are "minor suggested adult themes"?

Asked by BBawlight (2437points) June 13th, 2012

So I write fanfiction as some of you may know. I’m writing another chapter to one of my stories which is rated T. On the ratings guide you may notice it says “minor suggested adult themes” below the rating. What exactly are these themes composed of? How far can a character go (as far as romance is concerned) without it being qualified as Rated M?

The guy can feel her up, but it has to be through the shirt, not underneath.

@elbanditoroso So they can grope and such? Thanks.

I would say yes to that.

This reply isn’t helpful and will probably get modded for that, but I just wanted to say: I have to commend you for bothering to put up with censorship rules.

I think it’s the same type of idea as PG-13. So, like, you could have a couple have a date, and one spends the night at the other’s place, but it’d be sort of “they kiss some, and then the next thing we know, it’s morning and one of them is making breakfast for the other and they’re both clothed enough to go outside and pick up the paper.”

@Fyrius I’m working on Chapter 15 of my fic and the website will take it down if I don’t rate it correctly. I don’t want 15 bchapters to go down the drain because of one scene. They’ve been doing that lately because the site doesn’t have the MA rating. It just goes up to M. And people like to post lemons on the site. (Lemons are sexualy explicit scenes in a Fanfiction)
@Aethelflaed I thought so, but I meant, like, a full on make out scene. Is that alright for T? Or does just that get rated M?

@BBawlight I would rate it T. If they take it down, can you repost with an M rating?

@Aethelflaed I’m not sure. It’s never happened to me before. But if it does, I’m 15% sure I can because I still have them all in my Doc. Manager on the site. But there is just so many Documents you can put in the Doc. Manager before you have to delete some.

@BBawlight Keep a copy on your computer then, just in case.

@Aethelflaed Yes, good idea. Thanks.
