What fitness goals have you accomplished that you're proud of?

Asked by thebluewaffle (1002points) July 11th, 2012

I used to be into long-distance running, but for about a year now, I’ve been hitting the gym, and made some great gains and even ‘wowed’ a few people with my lifts.
Today I beat a few personal bests and feeling pretty proud of myself…
So, what fitness goals have you set, and then beaten, which you’re proud of? Or, what fitness goals are you working towards now?

I lost 80 lbs and walked a marathon in 2003. I have managed to keep most of the weight off since then.

@Judi Guessing thats about 30kg+ (I work in kgs, sorry), thats a bloody decent amount of weight to lose!
Well done!

Not unlike @Judi, after high school I lost 130lbs, and I didn’t gain it back. That was over 10 years ago, so I’m feeling pretty confident that I won’t go back to where I was.

I have not turned fat yet.

I was skinny, and in decent shape most my life. I ran in a marathon in Alaska in 2006.

@mowens The furthest ‘competitive’ race I have ran is only a half marathon…

How did you find a full one? Did you find it was more of a mental or physical struggle?

Although I have lost a fair bit of cardio, (still at a respectable level though) I still want to tick a marathon of my ‘to-do’ list!

I ran a mile in a PB last month, 4:38…....I was so pleased I went right home & humped the wife.

Finished a half-marathon and ran a 5k in under 30 minutes.

Nothing special but I am not exactly athletically blessed. They were huge accomplishments for me.
