What's your favorite cheesy horror movie?

Asked by WillWorkForChocolate (23163points) July 21st, 2012

As asked.

I’m watching IT right now! I watch it every time it’s on. The special effects are so cheesy and silly, but I love it anyway!

Any of the Godzilla or Mothra movies work for laughs.

Waxwork
Night of the Creeps
The Monster Club

Gad…there are several. Probably Motel Hell.
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes would come in first place, but it may not count since it’s become a cult classic.

@ETpro I love the Godzilla movies that are in a foreign language and the mouth moves and then the Americanized words come out.

@mazingerz88 Haha, I like Waxwork, too.

@chyna Exactly the kind I was thinking of. And I guess it’s the Kabuki theater that lets the Japanese suspend disbelief so easily. Japan is as high-tech as any country on earth, but the special effects are as cheesy as an double-cheese pizza.

OMG! The way the clown said, “They all float down here!” while his head is sticking up out of the gutter scared the poops out of me in It.

But even scarier than that, and even cheesier is Trilogy of Terror (This is part 1) but you must watch the other parts until the end. You will piss yourself : P

Evil Dead. The first one!

Dear God, the list is endless. I love cheese on my horror movies.
Horror at Party Beach
The Thing that Wouldn’t Die
Parts: The Clonus Horror (later remade as The Island!)
Bloody Waters of Dr Z
Squirm! (Ravening hordes of worms with metal teeth!)
I’ll stop now before I get myself all worked up. ;-)

@WillWorkForChocolate So which waxwork would you have entered? Marquis de Sade’s? I’ll take the…the…well, none of them. Scary. And that small person at the door, so creepy!

Oh, here’s another one.
Idle Hands, or why you should never smoke nutmeg.

@bookish1 Aahh, Idle Hands. How could I forget the first time I saw Jessica Alba in a movie?

Sex & the City, seeing those hideous harridans in various states of undress has me frozen in fear, especially when seabiscuit gets all frisky :¬(

Well, if you’re looking for a horror movie that’ll give you more of a laugh than a scare, check out ThanksKilling or Bubba Ho Tep.

ThanksKilling is about a homicidal turkey that goes around killing college students over their Thanksgiving break.

Bubba Ho Tep is about two old guys, who are roommates in a nursing home, that fight off an ancient Egyptian mummy that came to life after it was stolen from a museum and starts killing the other people living in the nursing home. One of them thinks he’s Elvis and the other guy, who is black, thinks he’s JFK.

In all honesty, ThanksKilling is just plain ridiculous, which makes it funny, but Bubba Ho Tep is more entertaining.
