This question is way too big. There’s entire websites, books and consultants offering tons of information on this subject.

I would be more inclined to help with specific questions like “how do I set up my business page”, or “what are the most effective ways to get Likes”, etc.

You could try this: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=market+my+brand+on+facebook

If you’re looking to advertise with Facebook, they charge you PPC (pay per click). I did an advertising campaign and used Facebook, most of their requirements are located on their website as far as what the ads should include/look like. I can look into it more when I get home from work and respond again. I don’t think there’s a minimum monthly cost, but I think you have to spend at least $20 or $25k per year to advertise with them. You can divide that cost between the months that you want your advertisement seen more.

Ok, so Facebook pretty much gives you step-by-step instructions on how to market your brand. When you go to your Facebook page, there is a link at the bottom Create an Ad. They advise you to create a Facebook page for your company/brand which users can “like”. After doing so, there’s an option for creating the actual advertisements you see on the sides of your page next to your live feed. When you make those advertisements, you can input the demographics of the target market in which you want to reach with your advertisements. Being able to do this is AMAZING technology. Not only does it reach people with those demographics but it will also reach people with similar likes as other people in that demographic group.

In other words, (this is just an example) if your target market is women between the ages of 20 and 35 who have children or are interested in starting a family, your advertisements won’t only reach those women, it’ll reach mostly that demographic as well people who like other pages that are similar to yours. (You know how Facebook suggests pages you may like.)

So apparently, if I’m understanding this correctly, there is no real minimum amount you have to spend for advertising. Well… there kind of is. Your lifetime budget must be at least twice as much as your daily budget. So if you plan on spending $200 total on facebook advertisements, your daily budget can’t be anymore than $100. What I’m reading here is saying that you can either place a bid to have your ad appear more frequently (to more than just the demographic group you’re trying to reach) or you can just use the CPM (Cost Per Impression) method and your ad will just reach your selected target market. The minimum cost per click is $0.01 (this would be your bid), but you can change your bid to be $0.05 and your ad will be seen by more people.

I hope this was at least a little bit helpful. Good luck!
